Introducing Frenzei

Today I’m happy to share about Frenzei, an app I’ve spent the past two and a half years designing and building for pet parents. It brings together the things I wanted a better way to manage for my own dog: everyday care, medical records, and guidance that takes his routine into account.

I’ve had my Shiba Inu, Wrigley, since he was 10 weeks old. Between looking after him, pet sitting, and moving to the Bay Area, I kept running into the same problem. His records were spread across clinics, emails, and folders, while the details of his daily care were another set of things to remember.

I started building Frenzei to bring those pieces together. The app has three main parts: Activity, Records, and Insights; and each helps with a different part of looking after your pet.

Keep track of everyday care with Activity

Activity lets you log meals, water, walks, bathroom breaks, medication, and more. You can save the food and quantity you usually serve, so logging breakfast doesn’t mean entering the same details again. For medication, you can keep the dosage and schedule together and receive a time-sensitive reminder when a dose is due.

I wanted logging to be quick enough to do while you’re actually taking care of your pet. You can use Siri, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Control Center, the Action button, or Shortcuts. On Apple Watch, you can log an activity from your wrist. When you’re out for a walk, a dedicated walking view gives you larger controls that are easier to use on the move.

Share care with the people who help

If you share pet care with someone at home or have a sitter looking after your pet, Frenzei lets you collaborate through iCloud. Everyone can see what’s been logged and who did it. You can check whether dinner has already been served or the litter box has been changed, with those updates in the same place as the rest of your pet’s routine.

Bring medical records into one timeline

Records gives your pet’s medical history a home alongside their daily care. Import documents from your vet, and Apple Intelligence helps organize vaccinations, lab results, and medications into a chronological timeline.

You can look back through that history without searching for an attachment or trying to remember which clinic sent it. Upcoming vaccine reminders also help you keep track of what’s next.

Get guidance based on your pet’s routine

Keeping a history is useful. I also wanted Frenzei to help you understand it. Insights uses on-device machine learning to look for patterns in your pet’s activity over time, alongside details such as their age, breed, weight, and size.

For feeding, that can mean guidance on adjusting the timing of a routine. For walks, Frenzei considers the temperature, recent activity, and your pet’s profile to suggest a suitable window to head outside. Recommendations can appear in Live Activities and the Dynamic Island, so you can see them without reopening the app.

Insights also helps explain information in medical records. For example, if a clinic has recorded your pet’s body condition score, Frenzei can explain what that number means on the nine-point scale.

Make it feel like your pet’s app

You can choose a custom pet avatar or use one of your own photos. Sky backgrounds change through the day, and each activity has its own icon. I’ve spent a lot of time on these details because this is an app you might open several times a day. I want it to feel personal and pleasant to use.

Frenzei is built for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, with ways to log care and check in on your pet across the devices you already use.

Availability and pricing

Frenzei will be available to download starting November 16, 2026. The basic features are free. The full experience, including personalized guidance and advanced features, is available for $8/month or $88/year.
